About P. M. Bagchi

P.M. Bagchi & Company, established in 1883, is an 136 years (more than a century) old renowned publishing house. Its primary publication being the Bengali Almanac (Panjika). P.M. Bagchi Panjika has been, and still is, a popular household name in Bengali communities, not only within the country and neighbouring Bangladesh, but in places as far off as UK and USA. The Panjika also includes the varying time schedules for Hindu festivals celebrated in foreign countries.

This almanac or Panjika is a vast storehouse of information and a ready guide for people of various sections and sub sections of the Hindu religion that contains details of religious procedures as laid out in the "Shastras", including a list of auspicious moments as well as dates for ceremonies, pujas, marriage and other festivities.
